Yup, you beat my post by a minute or two. Not the freshest format ever heard (no pun intended), by they sound more focused, and may give WLIT a run for their money.

Many will be watching this one. A brand new A/C station going up against an All Christmas station. Many have speculated that someone should do this. We'll find out once and for all, at least in Chicago, if women really want nothing but holiday music come November.

I enjoyed the hour of cyrstal-clear WBBM 780 news from 4 to 5 on the way home from work.

Made me sad for the old days, when they sounded just as good on the AM. WMAQ 670 sounded even better. :'(

That couldn't be more true. 'MAQ had much better stereo separation for it's little sounders than BBM. You'll notice how quickly WBBM dropped the stereo after WMAQ ceased to be. Either way, the AM stereo was nice on both stations.

This is the Chicago's version of WWFS' "Fresh 102.7" which is currently in New York City. I can see Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas or any place else can find "Fresh" in their format.

Seeing as CBS has cloned "Jack-FM" and "Free-FM" on handfuls of its stations in the past, it wouldn't surprise me.

Then again, Dan Mason is in charge, so perhaps management will think outside the box before carbon copying formats onto other stations.
