I agree with comments about free speech.

I would like to know who misadvised Imus. He should have apologized, ended it , then also asked Sharpton to apologize for calling the Central Park woman who was raped by his own kind, a whore, also, pay the $350,000 he ows to the Police Officer from New York, and apllogize for other things this low life has done to create racial animosity.

\Not go on his show. What is this? Also, I would have questioned where he went to college, where he was ordained on and on.

Show him and that other jerk for what they are race baiters.
 
I wouldn't have apologized to anyone. I would have issued this brief statement:

"This is the same show that it has been for 30 years. Nothing was meant to offend. Our listeners know that we play around and it's come to be expected. My show is silly and often times insensitive. Admittedly my words taken out of context by someone not familiar with the program, it may sound offensive. However my comments were clearly in jest. Anybody familiar with my program knows that. We have a fast paced show and many words fly off the cuff. We talk for 4 hours straight every single day. Stupidity is bound to come out. To be honest, I'm surprised that it hasn't come out more often. In this instance my comments were misinterpeted as being serious. Please know that they were not.Thank you."

That's it. I wouldn't have said two more words about this. Imus was clearly targeted by a couple of wackos. The media blowing this way out of proportion just made it much worse. I guess this is what happens when you have slow news days. You cover Imus stories. How sad. The next Radio personality caught in such a mess better pray for a Natural Disaster to happen the same week.
