Bree Walker, Texas Land Owner

Former San Diego TV Newscaster and radio host Bree Walker is slated to purchase Cindy Sheehan’s five-acre parcel of land in Crawford, Texas. The land is about seven miles from President George W. Bush’s ranch in central Texas.

Walker, best known for her TV anchor days at NBC 7/39 has been a weekend host at Los Angeles’ progressive talker, KTLK-AM.

Bree told BradBlog that she intends to keep the property “as a ground for freedom and peace.” She is also considering erecting a memorial there for troops killed in Iraq.

The price for the land is believed to be about $87,000.

Her talk show can be heard on 1150 KTLK-AM in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4.

Yeah Marv, you have her confused with Alison Steele who had worked at WXRK and at WNEW for many years before that...

However in the late 70's Bree did work at WPIX (now WQCD) and even did mornings briefly on WYNY (now Hot 97).

I believe she also worked at KPRI in San Diego under her maiden name... I may have the spelling wrong, but I think she was Bree Bashaw...

Isn't that special. Perhaps we should all put our beads on and sing Kumbaya in between hits of marijuana.

"Wasn't she also a news anchor on WCBS-TV?"

Yes - and you LA people have short memories. She was also an anchor at KCBS-TV in the late 80s -possibly the early 90s. At least part of that time, her co-anchor was her husband, Jim Lampley, who later returned to being a sports play-by-play commentator.

Walker has an inherited deformity of the hands and feet - one of those things that is a bit bizarre to look at, but not otherwise debilitating. I guess she can't type or knit...minor inconveniences. She and Lampley became nationwide talk-radio fodder when they decided to have a child, which had a high probability of inheriting the deformity. A lot of judgmental a__hole talk radio listeners were scandalized that they wanted to have children, given her condition.

There was a female talk show host at that time who tried to make a real big deal out of her diecision to have a child despite her disease, but I don't believe it was Stephanie Miller.
