Brendan Higgins out at KXAS-5 (DFW)

Stability is crucial to the popularity of morning news shows. His departure is bad news for NBC 5.
I'm not sure it helps anyone else, but it's bad news for them.

Seems to be a re-occurring theme in local TV of folks either leaving or being cut.

Former DMN TV critic Ed Bark (unclebarky.com) reported KTVT investigative reporter Bennet Cunningham in December when the new contract he was offered included a 10% salary cut. Babe Laufenberg and Mike Burger were in contract talks as well as of a few weeks ago (http://www.unclebarky.com/dfw_files/e6d38a939b409d0b2d8a32bf82b8bdd0-1387.html).
