Brent Dougherty Goes Overtime on the Zone

Brent Dougherty, who left 1510's Prime Time Sports in May after 4 years as a cohost, has landed on the Zone hosting Overtime along with Andrew Braverman. A two-hour program, Overtime premiered last night at 9:00 following the Tuesday-only ClayNation, which has expanded to two hours. Other nights, Overtime will slot 7-9 on non-game nights. Dougherty writes a column for VolNation.com.

This is welcome news for Titans and Vols fans who cannot call in the other nine local hours of the day. Two more hours of Fisher and Phil talk? Eleven hours of, "Hey, love the show. Just wunnnderin', y'all think Phil Fulmer's gonna lose his job? I wanna say 'Go Vols' and 'Go Titans'". I'll hang up and listen off air."

Damn Courier a little sarcastic are we? LOL I welcome more Vol talk and say I want to know if coach Fulmer will be around in 09 also? I am guessing yes. Go Vols and Go Titans! ;)

I liked Dougherty as a sports talk show host. I wondered what happened to him over there at WLAC? Doughtery sounds pretty natuaral and sounds not at all to have that old time DJ style. IOn fact most people really do not have that anymore. Not there is anything wrong with that minda ya. LOL Does Biff Barner come to mind? LOL

Dougherty's official reason for leaving PTS was he no longer had time with his kid after the show was moved to nights from late afternoons. Interesting that he's gone back in basically the same time slot.

Being there only on "non-game weeknights", though, means he's got a little extra cash flow AND a lot of time off.
