Brent gets the Axe in Syracuse

This is sort of outside of this board's realm, but it should be noted: As noted by Radio Insight and the Syracuse Post-Standard, Brent Axe, the PM drive host for ESPN Syracuse & ESPN Rome/Utica(respectively: 1200 and 97.1 in the Syracuse area, 1440/100.1 in Oswego, 1310/96.5 in Rome and 1350 in Utica)was released by Galaxy Communications(which owns all of the stations because of what the owner perceived that Axe's show was becoming too negative about Syracuse University sports. It turns out that Galaxy has a business relationship with the university...and recently retired basketball coach Jim Boeheim is an investor in the company. Axe is still a columnist for the Post-Standard.
 
It's absurd to fire him and I wonder how the rest of the on air staff feels that now the owners of their station made their shows look like full Cuse Propaganda. If i'm over at The Score 1260 and or Fox Sports 1490 I reach out and see what the asking price is. Maybe even see if you can help get a model like The Manchild Show on 1260 where it's buying the time. I'm sure Axe could get some sponsors.

To the last sentence: True, but right now that forum is as dead as Syracuse's chances of making any basketball tournament this season.

As for 1260 the Score: They have 2 local shows...and Axe worked for that station years ago. 1490 has no local shows.
