Brett Axed from 'EEI

In today's Herald. Only copying part of the article which refers to Brett getting let go from WEEI. The first part of Jessica's article was about the new anchor at NECN.

I've also noticed in recent weeks that Andy and Brett don't seem as vocal or cut in during the Big Show as they used to.

Anyway, here is the article:

http://www.bostonherald.com/busines...media#articleFull----------------------------

Sports talk radio powerhouse WEEI has axed one of Glenn Ordway’s longtime producers. WEEI-AM (850) program director Jason Wolfe sent an e-mail to staff yesteday telling them “Big Show” producer Brett Erickson no longer works for the station and “we wish him well in all his future endeavors.”

Erickson’s exit from the afternoon-drive show follows the Patriots [team stats]’ monumental loss to the Jets — a big damper on ad revenue — and as rival “98.5 Sports Hub” duo Mike Felger and Tony Massarotti has forged ahead of Ordway in the ratings war.

That leaves the “Big Show” with producer Andy Massaua, who was slapped with a one-week suspension last February for sending vulgar text messages to the Sports Hub. Station execs also cut loose “Big Show” honcho Pete Sheppard last January.

“I wish everybody there well,” Sheppard said yesterday. “It is what it is. It’s the nature of the business.”

Wolfe didn’t respond for comment.

Thanks Pete Belichick for the insightful analysis.
How is it Pete is not on 98.5 ?
Did he price himself out of the market like Neumy ?

It's not like Pete can talk Corn Huskers sports all year. He needs to be here.

So they're going from Brett Erickson to a Brett Favre wannabe? ;D

I got the impression that Brett wasn't well liked. It sounds like he welched on bets and generally didn't do very much. I know that he refused to participate on the web site. Does anyone know the inside story?

Don't know the inside story, but I don't think it's a budgetary issue either as the original article alludes to because the position is posted on All Access.
