Brett Favre get Sack on Hot 97

and you're surprised? ??? You got Thomas Jones, one of the Jets' MOST outspoken players, talkin' about their MOST controversial QB in MANY years, on NY Radio's MOST controversial radio station? What do you get? To quote Prince in 1978, "Controversy"... :)

Good for Thomas Jones. Brett "The Wannabe" Jet was a warm and breathing body going through the motions all year. Brett pretended to come in like the white knight and save the day for the Jets. He was a "pretender" and not a "contender". The losses to Oakland, Denver (at home) San Fran and Seattle should have never happened.
I applaud T. Jones for telling it like it is.

The big issue here is that the Jets have always hid their injuries. Brett Favre played the last five games with a torn bicep muscle that needs arthroscopic surgery. Kris Jenkins played the last five games with a hip injury and a herniated disc in his back. The Jets never made any of these injuries public and it was Eric Mangini's decision to keep playing both players even knowing they were injured. Remember, the Jets got to 8 and 3 with a healthy Favre. If anyone has a bitch, it should not be with Favre but, with Jets management for having two players play who should have been sitting out with significant injuries.

The above statement is totally incorrect. Thomas Jones is one of the Jets least controversial players and keeps a very low profile and does minimal interviews and talking to the press during the season. Next time get your facts straight. I would suggest reading Erik Boland, the Jets beat writer for Long Island Newsday. He has quickly risen to the top of all of the various Jets beat writers at the other New York papers.

Jones is a punk.

He hasn't payed his dues yet.

When he has accomplished 1/3 of what Favre has, then maybe he can start jawing.

Classless way to try and throw a future 1st-ballot HOF QB that holds almost every meaningful record, under the bus.

If he has a prob w/Favre, discuss it in the locker room. Keep it out of the press. Obviously he doesn't have the stones to do that.

Many can argue that it was Favre that got "Man-weenie" fired!

And today, he will be named the new Browns coach. Gee, I wonder if the NFL is scheduling a Jets-Browns game next season...

for Mangini, that would be GREAT - i just think the dude got a RAW deal... :(

Mangenious gets fired less than a month ago and he is back in the saddle again. Most coaches like Jim Fassel who get fired for a disasterous season and it takes them years to even get looked at for a head coaching position. Mangenious has the magic touch! ;D

How? He had a losing record and missed the playoffs 2 out of 3 years. Hew will suck in Cleveland too.

Coaches are judged by wins and losses just like radio stations are judged by ratings and billings. Mangini was 23-25 in three years with the Jets. The expectations became higher when the Jets were 8-3. Those expectations were not met. If you are a coach, if you lose, you get fired. It's that simple. Mangini had three very uneven years with the Jets and after the Jets were 8-3, it looked like the Jets were adopting Mangini's robotic demeanor during their late season collapse. Another reason Mangini got axed was that the Jets have seven pro bowl players. The talent was there but, Mangini could not get them to produce in the clutch. Will Mangini do better coaching the Browns? He is inheriting, at this point, a team with less talent and more problems than the Jets. A good coach makes the talent on the team play above its ability level. An average coach makes the talent on the team play at its ability level. A bad coach makes the talent on the team play below its ability level. By this definition, in 2008, Mangini was a bad coach. Looking at the potential new coaches for the Jets, I would lean toward Rex Ryan, Baltimore's defensive coordinator, for a number of reasons. Also, his daddy was an assistant coach for the Jets the year the Jets won superbowl three.

They will not play each other. The Jets will play the Bengals, since both teams finished third in their respective divisions. The Bills will play the Browns, the Patriots will play the Ravens, and the Dolphins will play the Steelers. The AFC East will play the AFC South, and the AFC North will play the AFC West.

Oh, if the Bengals have only won that tie game...

(Then again, if they did, the Eagles would have never made it in, so this is much better! ;D)
