It has been 12 years since I lived there. I struggled with DX from West Palm Beach to get WAYF 88.1. I also listened to the WSCF translator on 93.3. And the annoying WWIA 88.5 was finally bought out by Z-88.3. But then I am Christian and was only listening to Christian stations.
Top -40 was 107.1, it is good enough that it has fans in Orlando. There was a very much local top-40 on 95.1. There was a classic rock down the coast on 98.7, I believe. The whole group of Orlando stations makes it to Melbourne very well, and there are some fairly interesting things from the Cocoa Beach - a light rock on 99.3 is one. Vero Beach has a few interesting signals. Very much a small local market with some nearby towns and cities - a DX'ers paradise if you are into that. An outdoor yagi and a rotor will probably net all of the big Miami stations - I had 103.5 which was a really good rock station, not sure if they are still around. 93.3 the Power Pig was still around from Tampa, but the local WSCF translator was hard to null out.
I never tried swinging the antenna due North for Jacksonville, I had moved to Brevard from Daytona so it would have been depressing to hear semi-locals I liked reduced to deep fringe DX, but I am sure a lot of them would make it to Brevard.
Still, a few locals and Orlando, that is Melbourne / Palm Bay. A whole lot of stations, the band is packed.
Lived in Brevard for 10 years, Orlando radio dominates over there. DX AM from the south and west is awesome in CFLA if you have any grasp of the Spanish language.
