On northeastairchecks.com , you will find the complete CKLW reunion show that ran on the present-day CKLW in 2002. I recorded it from my vantage point in Toledo on VCR tape. Max Kinkel's website also has quite a bit of CK stuff as well.

And don't get ME started on The Big 8! Best AM audio ever...best board ops ever...TEN YEARS before I ever heard a board-op error on CKLW. There's more Cancon vinyl in this room then you can listen to in a week! Did'ja know that Detroit bands like Alice Cooper, Funkadelic, The Detroit Emeralds, Fabulous Counts, et al used to record in Toronto so their songs would be considered Cancon, so Rosalie could add 'em?

Thanks!!!

And no, I didn't know about the Detroit-artists Cancon trick...fascinating nugget. Would be curious to know if Bob Seger ever did that, given that he's the one who sang about Rosalie.

BTW, thanks for that comprehensive Pittsburgh review, too.

Inventor989/NuRoo/gr8oldies...thanks for the CK info! Wow! Some memories sparked here...The Fabulous Counts (GET DOWN PEOPLE). I didn't know about that nifty CanCon stuff with the recording artists. GREAT info! And I remember SEASONS IN THE SUN. It just played and played and played...here, too on 1230WCOL. And my fondest memories of CK was during trips to Cedar Point. While my brother and sister were into going for the rides, my secret motive was to be able to hear the booming audio of CKLW. I had my transistor radio with me the whole time. GREAT sound! And on my dad's car-radio...WOW! Heard it all the way home!

No prob...re Seger, I don't believe he ever did Canadian sessions. A guy who might know for sure is Jim Meltzer at CC Cleveland. Punch Andrews, Seger's longtime producer/manager, is an old buddy of his.
