What is Brian Cox's status on FSR's The Drive? I noticed last week that his name was never mentioned during the intro's...it was always "Ben Maller (or whoever) filling in for Chris Myers." Was he only slated to be around during the NFL season? I know he went to Iraq for a Super Bowl goodwill tour with the troops, so maybe he was just taking the week off to recharge his batteries.

I didn't know B. Cox was hired by the Jets. I like Cox and I'll miss hearing on the radio, but I definitely wish him the best on his new position. I also like Ben Maller and I thought his time to have a full-time gig was long overdue.

Brian Cox was terriable. He got in a tissy fit when somebody wanted to talk heaven forbid "Basketball". Was funny though when a caller disagreed and he called him "assinine".
At least the show is now listenable compared to the ex jock so prevalant these days on sports talk.
It beats listening to the "Hall of Famer" rick berry on knbr here and the worthless Rod Brooks who cannot carry a show by himself.

Ben Maller
Ben Maller has been treated like a leper for years by Asswood and the FSR brass, and passed over numerous times for full-time slots. I hope Ben gets this gig (finally). And if anyone is interested, www.benmaller.com is probably the best sports blog out there. It's worth checking out.

Curiously, Ben still has the Sunday overnight slot (3a-6a EST). I'd say for now, Bruce Jacobs takes over Ben's Saturday slot (2a-6a EST), as he has filled in for Ben in the past.
