His success in politics was about as successful as his last few years in the radio, BAD! I would stay as far away from him as possible unless you want a ton of problems. Word has it is that he can't follow direction AT ALL!
I lost all respect for Brian Elder when I heard his roofing spots on WPLX.
I wouldn't trust anyone who would actually give Thaddeus Matthews money to work on my roof much less be my mayor.

Jay "Craig Tew" Young is a really great guy. Unfortunatly he is hanging on to Brain Elders coat tail to tight. Brian will be his down fall again if they ever get lucky enough to get another gig.
Most critics are jealous, insecure, unproductive people who have nothing better to do with their time than talk about others whom are much more successful.I Love Rumor people!! To my former colleagues.
I'm sad to report that I will not be the mayor of Arlington. Upon reflection, I ran a terrible campaign. I was out classed, and the better man won. I am the president of the Chamber of Commerce, and serve on the Arlington Fire Dept, so no one has questioned my motives, nor my love for the town, nor my desire to make it better.
I leave the race humbled and ever more impressed with those who would sacrifice the time, and incredible amounts of money, and relationships to aspire to something better. This experience has taken a tremendous toll on my family, and I shall do my best to repay them for standing by me and knocking doors and stuffing envelopes, and missing an entire summer. I have the world's greatest family.
While the faults were my own, and the credit is due to the winner, if I am to comfort myself with any shred of positive spin, it would be this. Of the four incredibly dedicated and capable candidates, I was the only non politician. The others were already elected officials, and interestingly, all lost at their first attempts at getting elected.
Some of my biggest supporters were from the radio community. I am forever grateful to my friends on this board. Don't be surprised if you end up hearing from me again.

You are a class act. The little people throwing stones at you for advertising your company where they wouldn't, are an embarrassment to the community. At least you spend money with radio. What are they doing to save the industry? It took guts to even try to run for office and better your community. My hat's off to you. The fact that you even started a business after leaving radio is pretty impressive. I was never a Kix fan, but I was always impressed that you and Young had your own syndicated show, another thing very few of these spineless cowards ever tried. Not to mention the millions of dollars you guys raised for St.Jude.

There are some types of radio that is harmful to the community and should not be supported. It is shocking that Mr. Elder would want to advertise his business and be associated with that kind of trash.
I'm sure Brian's a fine individual, but if he is buying advertising with and associating with Thaddeus, he deserves to be criticized for it.

Brian while am I am amazed at the blatant illegalities associated with WPLX, I have to say that the Thaddeus Matthews rantings are so bad as to be hilarious to my twisted mind.
If he can get business by advertising on WPLX, I don't think it's a bad move for Brian. That's regardless of WPLX's programming. Maybe, he's getting cheap rates from Thaddeus.
