Brian Kenny Show

I have been listening to the Brian Kenny Show and have to say I enjoy it a lot. The show is very straight forward and the interviews are great.

brian is decent but stuck in a bad time spot. his boxing background corners him (no pun intended) and limits his appeal. not to mention his his ny accent/bias prevents him from national exposure. maybe that's why he's on this slot.

brian is refreshing at times and you're right - his interviews are above average.

So glad someone brought this up... I love his show.
Have been listening to a lot of ESPN Radio recently and he's my 1a to Gottlieb... I really find Kenny to be more informative and entertaining than Van Pelt (not a knock on SVP but mroe about how much I dig Kenny). Point being I would love to hear him in that afternoon slot. But give it time, ESPN changes its line-up about once a year....

My one knock on ESPN Radio is how hacky it seems during the evenings on Weekends. stupid poll questions and "please call me" topics... the "who do you think is going to win" bit should be spared for local hacks who have no hope. Not a national audience.

A low affiliate clearance is the main reason for this...Most affiliates are on PxP coverage, the only ones clearing the entire schedule are flea powered AM stations. Even ESPN has changed this by putting PxP coverage on their main channel in a cost cutting moved and replaying several shows in the evening/overnights (Friday night has no live shows past 7 ET except for a 2 hour Sports Center block, and shows repeat to 6am)

That's sad for a major network. At least FSR is always live overnights.
