Brian Maloney vs. Reese Hopkins

There's nothing wrong with a humorous insult aimed at a talk-radio host, but what about insults that are not terribly humorous, to wit, the one included in this post:

If John McCain referred to Barack Obama as a "two-bit, street corner hustler",
wouldn't that be considered in poor taste, to say the least?
 
I think he has hit the nail right on the head.

Now is it that Reese Hopkins is just a stage name, and he went under his "given" name, OR is Reese a fraud?
 
Jesus could take over AM Drive on WRKO and Maloney would call him a no talent liberal suck-up who owed everything to his father.

The Reese flap is just a typical [EDIT] between Maloney and Heslam.

My sources (which I remind everyone have proven to be far more reliable than Maloney's - you can look it up on these boards if you have the time or the inclination - I don't blame you if you don't...) say that his current legal name and the name he went under in the early 90's are quite different, therefore the formerly lazy, suddenly intrepid Jessica would be unable to find any record of his attendance.

Well if the Herald really wanted to follow up, a trip to NY or NJ's Secretary of States office, or whatever court would have had jurisdiction in a name change case and search the last 20 years records for the decree allowing the change legally.

Otherwise they battled to a draw. Someone somewhere has to know his real name.
 
For a guy who couldn't make it as a talk host, Brian Maloney presents himself as an radio programming, sales and management expert. His blog was started after he realized Entercom was never going hire him as a regular host.

Except for sucking up to Rush Limbo, I can't remember when he has written anything positive about the broadcast industry.

That's assuming that there is an actual, legal, court-ordered name change involved, and not just an "air name" (I'll wager everyone here knows who former top-40 jock "Jeff Christie" actually is).

the follow up story is even more dumber than the original one. so let me get this straight, the big deal here is that his fordham diploma has a different name on it. jessica the superhero made him correct this piece of bio on 'rko's website. wtf? by now, she must know his previous name but won't print it because his story very likely checked out and the herald desperately needs another multimillion dollar libel lawsuit to go against it. so, of course, now that she completely looks like an idiot and must come out of this smelling like a rose, she implies that he originally left something very important like a name change out of his bio and she nailed him for it. oh, this is huge. what an effin' moron. no wonder the herald is going under.
 
Wow, I can't believe those two words in my comment were considered vulgar. I guess my own standards have gone down. For the record, it was not a direct curse of M or H, nor was it one of the seven words. It was an expression for a certain activity that has been known to be performed by people who would stand in a formation that was more rounded than square.

In any event, the posts after mine were better anyway. Who cares about this stupidity besides Brian and Jessica? Either you like the show or you don't. Listen or don't listen. Personally, he's my favorite show on WRKO right now, though I don't get to listen as often as I'd like.
