BRIAN SUITS: What is worse?

Brian Suits was subbing for Tim Conway, Jr. tonight...

Oh my God...besides his monotone voice, his stammering was at new heights tonight...UNLISTENABLE.

Is Clear Channel trying to use him as much as possible after discontinuing one of their talk stations in Seattle where he was a host?

...except that Clear Channel does not own KVI in Seattle; it is owned by Fisher.

You know, I thought so, but I somehow doubted myself and should have gone with my first thought.

Actually I missed totally what I was going to say: What is worse -- listening to him or getting bamboo stuck under the finger nails or having a tooth pulled without anesthetic.

What is the hold that this guy has on KFI? He's has never been ready for primetime, much less a flamethrower as KFI, or a market as Los Angeles. He wasn't bad with Kennedy, but man alive, it was sooooo painful tonight.

Oh but yes he was bad with Kennedy but her presence made it easier to take. I felt sorry for her being saddled with such a loser. After KFI dumped Ziegler at the behest of John Kobylt they must have been desperate (perhaps out of their minds) but then they lucked onto Tim Conway Jr. so it is all good that ends well as they say.

I can't defend Suits's speaking abilities, but his knowledge of the military is extensive and his analysis of foreign policy is interesting. I enjoy his Sunday show and I loved when he worked with Kennedy. Ziegler is a total asshole at the very least for denigrating Suits's service to the country on therealkfi.com. As for the "hold" he has on KFI, it's called a contract.

Lest I didn't make my intense dislike of that right-wing Palin-loving kook clear thanks to this board's censoring of my post, the word I used rhymes with "brass pole".

I can not deny that Suits is an expert on military and certain foreign affairs policies however that would make him an excellent candidate for one of those talking heads that they drag out on FOX News and CNN when discussing news stories relating to those matters.

But the purpose of a radio show is to be compelling and engaging and to be able to speak in a manner that won't have listeners reaching for the tuner. There as a host is where Suits falls down and Ziegler shines. You don't have to agree with his beliefs and if you don't you don't have to listen if his views irritate you. But as a host JZ is better that Suits but not as entertaining as Tim Conway Jr.

In the end after Ziegler and Suits KFI has come up with an excellent evening host that is more listenable than Bryan Suits and less narrowly opinionated than John Ziegler. So I see it as a win win.

Agree with you totally on that. The rest of your quote?...not so much.

I'm a pretty big fan of B. Suits. I used to like the Kennedy & Suits program quite a lot. I was less a fan of his solo effort but thought he was getting much better by the time he left for the North. The Sunday show is something I try not to miss.
That said...I heard a few five minute segments of his recent fill in as described in the initial post starting this thread and had to tune away. It was awful. I wondered if he'd been slipped a mickie or had taken some Stupid Pills before going on air. Or maybe some Fake Pills. I can't explain it. Everybody deserves to have a bad day mulligan now and then and I'll give it to him for that night's performance.

A little Ziegler goes a long way. He's good some times and other times I can't listen to him. Many say he's seriously unbalanced and I can't argue much about that. Ziegler would be a good Sunday night show for KFI but I don't suppose they'd have him now. KABC has a lot of time he could take to save us from infomercial hell but that's not likely to happen either, I suppose, since Ziegler's probably not either crazy enough or rich enough to buy time. ::)

Well, he's out of his element on weekdays. Even Kennedy couldn't save him from that stumbling and disjointed delivery.
However, his weekend show is the complete opposite. Surprisingly, he comes across polished and articulate.
He ought to take over for George after 10pm and stay away from topics not related to the military.

Suits is horrible but not as bad as Frost!! Btw, I love Tim Jr.

Re: BRYAN SUITS: What is worse?

Bryan Suits was a pretty good Rock DJ when he worked at KHOP-104.1 Modesto CA from 1993-96.
