Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin

I wish he hadn't. I don't like hearing real standards turned into rock and roll.

On the other hand, I heard one of the songs on Dial Gobal and I guess it's one way to get young people to listen.

Let's see. Brian Wilson turns 69 in June. Which young people are we talking about? I didn't mean for that to sound offensive. I was just curious.

I think Wilson's Gershwin album is good. Pretty innovative for him at this point in his career.

Beach Boys are my favorite band all-time....their covers in the past have been first class

LP - 15 Big Ones all covers some great stuff
their cover of Monday Monday...really goooooooooooooooood.
their first couple of lp's had a few great covers..

having said that..I really didn't care for the Gershwin LP, that's just my personal opinion, the sun will rise tomorrow, maybe others like it and that's great, we all love different stuff.

Willie Nelson has done alright doing some old stuff from the pops and Gershwin era. Some of them take a couple of listens before they grow on you. Why not Brian Wilson. I haven't heard it yet so I am looking forward to something!

I like Willie Nelson's way of doing these songs, but a lot of the ones Brian did have rock and roll added to them, which just isn't right.
