Some of you need to put down the kool-aide. I believe some coverage is necessary, but wall-to-wall coverage of a situation where the news reports are filled with mostly misinformation (at the early stages) is almost irresponsible broadcasting to be quite blunt. None of the local TV stations stuck with the coverage for very long, and KTAR stuck with wall-to-wall for about 90-120 minutes.
I agree. If the Sears Tower in Chicago gets hit by a plane today I think it would be stupid for anyone to do wall-to-wall coverage where the news reports are filled with mostly misinformation (at the early stages) that is almost irresponsible broadcasting to be quite blunt.
If that were to happen I think the radio stations should wait until they know exactly what happened and then go on the air. Or, maybe only mention it for a second so they don't give out any misinformation and then go back to normal programming.
