Bridge: HD Radio Showing ‘Disappointing’ Growth

they really need to increase the radios available i think the biggest issue with hd radio is the limited coverage which no one talks about. i think i heard the digital signal only can operate at 10% max output of what the analog is and the digital power output is that low because otherwise it would create inference with the analog. i have the jvc model and even in a stations primary service contour the digitial signal is extremely sensitive to terrain or any other obstruction between the car attenna and the transmitter lots of drop outs in hilly terrain much better in flat open terrain.. but its obvious the power is much lower.

It is actually 1%. That is part of the problem. If it were 10% it would probably work fine. Unfortunately, the interference would be intolerable.
