You ought to get the facts correct. The piece shown on You Tube was not simulated rape. It was a simulated mutual sex act. It was a concert where all attendees were supposed to be 18. The club didn't bother to check everyones IDs and a 14 year old girl got in and was the person seen on stage in the simulation. Whether it was right or wrong is not the issue here, it was NOT simulated rape.
This kind of music is very sexual. This happened to get in the news but I've seen some where girls actually give BJs to the performers on stage. No that is not correct but the issue here is society as a whole and how we accept this. I have a lot more hope that Don Imus would be less likely to say such things, but obviously he did and that carries more weight than some rapper. And remember as was shown in the link you posted, IMUS has been calling people names for years. He simply got his hand caught in the cookie jar this time around. It was ten years due and because CBS expected higher standards from Imus and got tired of Imus' derogatory comments and saw the future of Imus' programming fading, he lost his job. As for Akon, I don't expect the same standards. In fact I don't think there are standards. Sometimes Parents need to be parents and one, know what there kids are doing and two, instill values in them.
IMUS lost his job because it was time and the best way for CBS to fire him was to find a reason.
