Oh brother.
Q-102 is a CHR/Pop station in Philadelphia that targets first and forsemost 18-34 year old females. No 80s, little 90s, mainly todays hit music.
WNRJ Norfolk recently evolved from a Rhythmic AC to some sort of Hot AC/CHR hybrid. Its Rhythmic AC format didnt last very long.
Movin 93.9 L.A. recently dumped Rhythmic AC for pretty much a Jammin Oldies format, while rival 104.3 K-Big recently dumped most of its Rhythmic and Retro Dance titles in favor of a more traditional Hot AC sound.
Lastly, Movin 101.1 St. Louis recently began moving away from Rhythmic AC towards Hot AC. In fact, it's already been reclassified as a Hot AC by the industry.
Rhythmic AC and Hot Hits are two very very different formats. The Hot Hits format of the 80s was extremely current based and didnt really lean on Rhythmic. Rhythmic AC on the other hand, well, you already know what it is.
Lastly, both albany and the Hudson Valley are well served by CHR radio. K-104 is the heritage CHR in both Poughkeepsie and Kingston, while Fly 92, 102.3 Kiss FM, and 96.3 Jamz battle it out for the CHR audience in the state capitol.
