Sad to hear The Music Professor no longer with WGRR....he would be a natural for WDJO since his radio experience includes the long gone and long missed "WIXY-1260" up in Cleveland.

Saw him at a southeast Indiana vineyard and reception hall being a DJ at a wedding for the daughter of an old freind of his who died earlier this year.Wanted to talk to him but didn't have the heart to..my heart goes out to the 'ol dude in his time of need.

C'mon Cincy radio..give the Music Professor a job!

Don't put him out to pasture.

When he was asked about working at DJO , he said he had no intention of it. Among other comments, he said he doesn't think much of that crew.

I'm glad the music prof. is doing the Jerry Thomas and going off into the sunset.

Wish some other dinosaurs would do the same...

Their civil union aside, Keith has done very well in his first two books with WGRR. They don't seem to miss Jim.

So the ole Music Professor doesn't like the guys at DJO! Well, after reading that, maybe many of us won't really care if he ever gets back on the air or not. Besides, Dusty has more experiences in the oldies music world than the self proclaimed Professor if he lived three lifetimes.

I've often wondered why he doesnt go back to Cleveland where he made his name. Surely they remember him there from his days at WIXY, I think? Why couldn't he be the "Dusty" of Cleveland? When he first came to town at WLW,he was spinning MOR records and never was a "boss" jock here in Cincy.

No kidding. I like the Music Professor, but, he is not in the same league with Dusty.

Correct, trusty Dusty has no talent. Jim has a little bit.

Was Jim LaBarbara ever a regular on the Ruth Lyons Show?

DON'T think so. The Professor was still at WIXY when Ruth was still on the air. She retired in 1967.

Wrong again, look at Dusty's ratings over years, The Music Professor is not even close.

Hate to tell you, Dusty would have never lasted this long, if he did not have any talent as you claim. Dusty has been in radio since the 1950's.

As stated by former Q102 jock Janeen Coyle stated, she used to listen to Dusty to hear how the Master did it. Also a fan of Dusty is Cousin Brucie. You know how to judge radio talent like Cousin Brucie, I think not. On the WOLF page, yes, that is Gene Austin of WSAI, the only person to beat Stan Matlock in the ratings. Detroit legend radio legend Dick Purtan would think differently, but, being in the National radio Hall of Fame, along with Cousin Brucie, what does he know?
