BRING BACK! !

WSDM, Chicago was a prehistoric album rock (of the day) format, with jazz overtones. In it's heyday in the mid-60's It played album cuts from the Billboard album chart, which included Dave Brubeck Ray Charles, Ray Conniff and Sy Zentner. It was a forerunner of today's "smooth jazz."

It was a very well programmed and imaged station. I listened every day It helped race my teenage hormones.

The jocks were ladies known as "den pals" all 24 years old and under. SDM="Smack dab in the middle; The station with the girls and all that jazz."

Re: BRING BACK! ! WSDM HISTORY

Hey Guys:

Does anybody know the exact date WSDM started the all jazz format with the all girls lineup?

Can anybody tell me the history of WSDM before it became WLUP?

Thanks

T.J.

I can't recall the day it actually started, but they did have some very good people over there such as Connie Szerszen, Linda Ellerby, Yvonne Daniels, Denae Alexander, & Penny Lane just to name a few.

Bring back WDAI on 94.7. Perhaps that would "lift the curse" ::)

I believe the "curse" ended with WLS-FM. Check out their latest ratings numbers, they are doing really well, even in 25-54!
