Bring Becker Back

I was looking through the myspace pages of Radio talents on 105.7 The X and happened to cross over Rick Becker's page. I then realized I hadn't heard him on the radio for some time and took a few minutes to check out his page. In doing so, I found that a fan recently created a myspace page urging his fans to rise up and speak so that he can grace our presence on the air waves once again. Please take some time to look at this page and add it if you're on myspace. Rick Becker is a God of radio and is a talent unlike any other. He deserves to let his talent shine through on the air instead of being ridiculed for his beliefs, sarcasm and most of all his knowledge.

What was Citadel thinking?!!!!!!!!? Do your part to bring back Central PA's long lost talent!

Thanks for listening...

Beck was my young bud at Citadel Harrisburg (1999). "Like a chump, heeeeeeey,
like a chump, heeeeeeey, like a chump..."

Regarding his beliefs, I don't recall, but I know he believed that Chevelle's single
"Mia" sucked, and I loved that tune. He also announced as Colin (someone?) on
the sister FM, Cool Pop 106.7.

What was Citadel thinking?!!!!!!!!?

Seemingly, an eternal query...

I hate to see dedicated people lose their jobs. But if a company isn't gonna recognize your talent and keep you around and/or take care of you, then why would you wanna work there? Trust me, he's better off without Citadel. A change in this business is a comin'...

Just a thought after reading the myspace blog..........

From management's perspective, there may not have been anything wrong with what he was trying to do. But a weekend airshift on a rock station isn't exactly the place to do it. You know your role when you sign up. Play the music, read the liners, and don't piss anybody off. If you're the PD, do you really want some $6/hr employee turning a 4-hour weekend shift into a headache that lasts all week? Hell no. It may be cliche, but it's also true. There's a time and place for everything.
