I wanted to share something with you today...
So for the last three months, I've been using the audio sharing site Chirbit to upload radio quality recordings of mine (mostly sports shows) to the internet.
People can then go to: http://www.chirbit.com/ThompsonAudioNetwork
Once there, people can listen to my shows if they have Adobe Flash Player 10 & Adobe AIR, and if they follow a small print link under the show description, they can download my show so they can listen via Windows Media Player, MP3 players, etc...
Chirbit also makes it possible to share your recordings on Facebook or Twitter.
I say it's "on demand" because just like most of the cable companies' "on demand" services, it's free and people can listen to any of my shows any time they want to.
Now that I've got the ball rolling with five shows a week, uploaded Monday through Friday, I've thought about selling airtime on my shows. I'd voice the spots myself and stick them in the middle of my shows (I really only take one break during a 5 to 10 minute show.)
So here are some questions that I have...
A: Do I have to get a business license or any license at all to sell airtime on a audio webcast (non-streaming)?
B: If I do start selling airtime, what would be a fair price for a 30 second spot?
