Bristol Palin Coming to Phoenix Radio After All?

Interesting article on Azcentral.com about Bristol Palin pursuing that Phoenix radio job everybody was talking about a few weeks ago.

http://www.azcentral.com/ent/celeb/articles/2011/01/25/20110125bristol-palin-pursues-phoenix-radio-job-has-new-boyfriend.html

She says in the article, "I'm going to meet with them and see if it's actually legitimate and see if I would like the guy I would be on air with."

As most of you may already know, Bristol was offered a co-host position on the MIX 96.9 morning show with Mathew Blades.

So with this news, does anyone think this might actually happen? ???

I suppose anything is possible. It is Phoenix (former radio home of Glenn Beck, Danny Bondauce, Jessica Hahn, Tom Leykis, etc.)! ;D We seem to attract weird in this market.

What could Bristol possibly offer other than the gleeful disaster that was her DWTS fiasco.

What, was the guy that played "The Big Ragoo" on Laverne and Shirley not available?

Stunt hiring....it NEVER works.

Blades & Palin in the morning ... voice track liners by Ted Williams! Now, that's a PPM lineup for Mix. What next Lee Abrams to program it too?

It's an effective way to get a bump in the ratings. Look she's not at the job yet and people all over Phoenix are talking about it.

If it works, it's great but if she doesn't have a vibrant personality with a lot to say, it will be short lived but it will be fun.

Uh.....no they're not.

It's more like "hey! look at the guy with three eyes!"

Question: If Bristol were involved with any voicetracking projects, given the area that she hails from, would it actually be considered "voice-yak-ing" in her case? ;D

You betcha! (Aw, c'mon - you knew that was coming.)

According to Blades on The Morning Mouth, they met with Palin recently, and he says she's "shy" but...

THE MOUTH, JANUARY 26, 2011 - "Blade tells Arizona's Family Channel 3, "The ball's in her court!. We met with her; she's shy, there's no way around that. But once I got her talking about things that interested her, like hockey ...she got more animated." Blades added that he hopes to meet with her a few more times and they'll see where it goes."

But azcentral tonight says AP reports Palin accepted the job this past Friday...

"Palin recently bought a five-bedroom house in the Phoenix area, and The Associated Press reports that she accepted a job Friday at Phoenix radio station KMXP-FM, better known Mix 96.9."

Uh yeah they are. Mix has been on every local news show, CNN, E!, even Stern talked about it.

Really? I watch a lot of news shows and saw only the first announcement (not exactly news as it was handled by a studio host on a morning show more as a joke) and have not seen any reference to it since.

BTW, neither Stern nor E! are news outlets.

Bristol Palin would be awesome on KFYI. She has the conservative political background, AND an entertainment background. Younger women totally relate to her. Especially young girls that got pregnant in high school. That could bring in lots of younger listeners for KFYI. And they need to do something like that, cuz Rush and Barry aren't getting younger.
