Bristol Press: FOX 61 fires Geoff Fox

This was the lead headling in todays New Haven Register. Amazing what a small town paper considers headline worth news. Slow news day or sticking it to the courant?

The latter, I think. There's a point where competition ends and vendetta begins.

Why is this such a surprise? Men are, for the most part, hardwired this way, otherwise the population wouldn't keep growing higher and higher. To think otherwise is just fooling one's self. Society simply refuses to accept that men are this way, always have been and always will be. The only thing "inappropriate" to this is how each individual views it...but rather society has already deemed this shocking and simply will not be tolerated. Men will continue to chase women, regardless of whether they are attached or not...it's just a fact of life and we all need to accept this and get over it. While Geoff Fox may have used poor judgment, based on societal views, he, in my opinion, didn't deserve to be fired. It's typical overreaction based on what the "general public" will think, even though a good percentage of the general public would probably do the same thing if given the opportunity.

Excuse me for bumping an old thread, but did anybody see the Dr. Phil show today? It was suppose to have an interview with Ms. Kennedy, the woman on the other side of the "inappropriate behavior" that occurred. I didn't see it and was wondering if this was really some sort of smoking gun or just some woman fishing for her quarter-hour of fame.

It didn't seem like she was looking for the fame. She was sort of ashamed by how far it went. Talked about how it all came out of her liking Fox's Facebook page, and then him starting to comment on her Facebook photos. She claimed that he started getting racy and she responded, and then that's when her boyfriend created the page that leaked all the messages.
