If the story has the Devil in it, many times the actor playing him is British. Which British actors can you remember playing the Devil in either TV shows or movies?
1979: Patrick Macnee as Count Iblis in the "War of the Gods" episodes of Battlestar Galactica on ABC.
2016: Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar in the Fox series Lucifer (although, technically, he's Welsh)
 
John Cleese for a short sketch on the Frost Report where he does an appeal for hell.

Come to think of it: Rowan Atkinson. "We like to keep things informal, as well as infernal..."
