Broadcaster gear stolen

I know that some of you on this list are still in the industry, so this is more of a heads-up than anything.

Archer Communications (me) had all of our sports broadcasting equipment stolen from a storage building in Richardson on Saturday night. It appears that the bad guys knew exactly what they were looking for, and were in and out of my storage unit in about 3 minutes. The Richardson police have a few leads, but recovering my gear may be difficult at best.

Items stolen include a Comrex Hotline, Comrex Nexus, 5 Beyer-Dynamic headsets, and a Mackie VLZ-1402 mixer, among other things.

If you hear of anyone trying to sell any merchandise like this, please contact me, or the Richardson Police Department.

I guess in the good news/bad news category.. the good news of this theft is I don't have high school football to produce this fall, as our contract with KRVF in Corsicana to produce Ennis football was unceremoniously ended after six seasons. Unfortunately, this non-renewal occurred too late to find another gig.

I know its a slim chance that anyone will hear anything, but if you do, your help is most appreciated.

That's awful, John. Were there any identifying marks on the gear?
I used an engraver to put my Texas Driver License number on my stuff. Not only does it help police link it back to you if it's found, but it also elevates the theft to a felony if the identifying marks are scratched off.

Part of the equipment was marked, so hopefully that will help.

And only two people knew that I had a storage building... my wife, and my best friend, and I trust both of them.

It is bizarre.. no doubt.

Call our tech support line and get them the Comrex serial numbers (they may be in our database if you are the original owner). We keep a "hot list" of gear that has been reported stolen, so if it comes in for repair we can investigate.
