Broadcasters Insurance

I answered before. The NAB can steer you to the slander and liability insurance that they have arranged for.

The price varies. The coverage varies. It is just like car insurance. You look at deductables, and they look at your record, including legal entanglements int he past.

I really am unsure what you mean by "broadcasters insurance" except that insurance specific to radio or tv which would cover defamation cases. This would usually be called "Broadcasters Liability Insurance."

This insurance can be very difficult to obtain if you are not the licencee of a radio station.

You did answer. I wasn't sure if somebody else was able to comment as well. I am brokering time on a station in NY, and they require "broadcasters insurance." So I will try and find out from the NAB.

Remember, NAB does not sell insurance. They simply have obtained sources for members to get it, though, as a service.

Right with AON. I am waiting for a reply from them. Thanks for your help!

I don't know for sure, as I never heard the term "broadcasters insurance". But it sounds as though it may be similar to insurance sold to the print media called E&O or Errors and Omissions.

A: Casting broads is considered to be in poor taste as well as politically incorrect.

B: "Insurance" can be obtained from guys whose names end in vowels and tawk funny, however, they call insurance "protection."

C: Pricing? How much so you don't have your legs broken?

Seriously, Lloyds of London offers an insurance policy on your vocal chords. I am not making this up. You pay, you lose the ability to talk, you collect.

Other performers insure other body parts. Taste and decorum prohibit me from detailing more.
