Broadcasting for Babies

Except for 106.7, all of the major Atlanta radio stations came together (28 - including WWWQ-HD2 and WEKS Griffin) to raise money for the March of Dimes this morning. I don't have the amount (I am sure Rodney Ho will pass that along once he gets it).

I think it is truely amazing when broadcasters set aside their comepetive differences and come together for a good cause. I am also glad to see it happening not just after a disaster (9/11, Katrina), but for something that is a problem all of the time - problems caused by premature birth.

We say bad things about broadcasters all of the time, but every one of these stations should be given a pat on the back for coming together for this cause.

In actuality, if you look at the True Oldies channel's webpage, they do have a section where donors can contribute to the March of Dimes. Go to http://www.wyay.com/Article.asp?id=812652

Who or what inspired this campaign? Obviously it was planned and coordinated by someone. But when, how... and who gets the credit?

I would think the March of Dimes was the driving force.
