That's what's being reported and supposedly confirmed. Seen this on Allan NY Radio Message Board. Think he goes to Z to fill in afternoons for Cubby?jp
Sorry, I should have been more specific. That "Broadway" Bill Lee is out at 'KTU. I have also heard that Jewelz was also out at 'KTU as well.Maybe this is me being paranoid but SOMETHING is going down there and New York dance fans had better be prepared for it.Tony; what's confirmed? the Z 100 thing?
Here's the thing, hypothetically speaking.IF 'KTU goes down with a change and IF Vic Latino were to go to Z-100, I can't (nor would expect to) see him influencing dance music on that station, especially considering that Z-100 is a CHR.well, if it goes down, Vic Latino would be perfect for Z 100!(and he'd bring a dance/club mentality there!)
Tony, I laugh when you say stuff like that. Bill Lee was a legend YEARS before he even got to New York. If you never heard him prior to NYC, check out Reelradio.com. There are airchecks of him on KFRC from 1983 that put his work on Hot 103/Hot 97/WKTU to shame. And to tell you the truth, I couldn't even listen to him once he got to New York. I admit, I'm not into dance music, so I am biased in that respect. However, when he worked at KFRC and WTIC-FM, they played all kinds of music, so it was much more enjoyable hearing Mr. Lee (Lenky) talk up "I Think I'm In Love" by Eddie Money as well as "Mama Used To Say" by Junior.Tony Santiago said:For dance music fans, Broadway Bill Lee is our "Dan Ingram". He has been a legend here since the days of Hot 103 and 97.
Wayne,With all due respect, this is the NEW YORK area of Radio-Info. I am aware of his stints in San Francisco and Hartford but we are basing all "Broadway" Bill Lee talk on what he has done in New York, to which he was an on-air personality on such dance/rhythmic as WQHT and the current WKTU. That is why I had noted that he had been a legend HERE since people, that live here, know of him based on his work on those stations. And for dance music fans, the best way to describe his talents is to compare him to Dan Ingram. And no question, Dan Ingram is a VERY high standard of on-air personality. Most people, outside of here, never heard Bill Lee in other markets but I do not question any aspect of his incredible talent on those stations. And whether that would be dance, CHR, A/C, etc. Bill Lee is an incredible talent...one that will be missed unless Mix 102.7 snaps him up. AND QUICK!Tony, I laugh when you say stuff like that. Bill Lee was a legend YEARS before he even got to New York.
