Some ad guy ended his “middle show” KMZQ after a year, there is only so much of the back in the day of Vegas stuff I can take, guess “go gargle with razor blades” sells more than “ can’t we all get along? “ an hour show at the beginning of the day ..saying the rest of the right wing talk shows on the station were misguided? Umm?

Absolutely. I said elsewhere the first radio adverts were literally dissertations on why one should purchase a product. None of these modern shock tactics. Radio and TV is designed around inflaming emotions and getting a reaction and has been almost since the beginning.

Social media is the same. Go look at the comments on everything from Fox News to Newsmax to CNN and Politico. Exactly the same thing. Name calling, mud slinging, mockery and insults. Very very rarely do you see someone cite actual fact and law
 
I avoid this kind of talk and limit my talk radio listening to mostly WGN, and KFI to a lesser extent. I'd rather listen to Rollye James play trivia with listeners, and guess Oldies music than having my anxiety and blood pressure levels explode from hearing all that negativity. Life is so much more pleasant that way.

I avoid talk radio totally now because it's almost totally opinion. I'll listen to the headlines then research myself and formulate my opinion. I do not need to be told what to think.

From a business perspective though it's a good model because it sells. It makes money so it carries on.
