Bronze screen antenna counterpoise (soldering recommendations)?

Hello All,

I bought a 4' wide X 100' long roll of bronze (90% copper/10% tin) window screen to use for an antenna counterpoise screen. I will solder a stranded insulated wire (probably #14 AWG or #12 AWG) "pig tail" to it to connect the screen to the Antenna Tuning Unit.

Which kind of solder (silver, rosin core, etc.) is best for such a bronze/copper joint? Also, is a small butane torch preferable to a soldering iron for soldering to screen?

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

When I constructed my ground radials using #12 AWG soldered to a #8 AWG ring, I used a propane torch and plummers silver solder as the amount of metal involved will create a heatsink and the result will be cold joints, I also used solder flux (plummers) and the result was excellent solder joints.

Hope this helps.
