Heard this on Friday. Hope he lands on his feet really soon. I always liked Bill. Maybe he could go to WBRF? Clear Channel continues to cut, will probably replace him with VoiceTracking.

Having known Bill for several years I can say he's one of the best persons I've ever met. Good luck for him his wife and son.....Is it Mobile in the picture Bill?????? 8)

Are they? Do you even have access to numbers beyond the 12+ that are released publicly? Maybe so, maybe not because one glance at those show you WTQR is beating the Wolf right now. And if you had access to the daypart breakdowns, you'd also see that The Paw isn't doing well at all versus Roper in the Morning.

I love how people just throw out blanket statements like this without actually checking to see if what they're saying is true.

S-A-T probably means "cutting them a new one" where it matters....in billing. Entercom is having its way with Clear Channel in the triad and the primary reason is their great repositioning of WTQR as your grandfather's country radio station. Waiting too long to pull the trigger on Eloise, Bill and others has cost them dearly. Thirty years of market equity evaporated in 24 months when WOLF came straight at 'TQR with a fresh, young, in your face approach. 'TQR could have reacted quickly but lived in denial for the better part of a year (and four rating books) until they finally made some changes. Radioheel knows the battle has tightened in the ratings but it isn't even a fight in revenues. Something bigger than Brother Bill leaving will need to happen if CC-GBO is to ever get their billing back.

The billing thing starts and ends with the Market Manager! CC has replaced MM after MM for not performing to the CC level of expectation. Does Kim have pictures of John Hogan with farm animals or something? There has been huge turn over at CC and they have very little air staff and a sales staff that is talented but under the tumb screws everyday by management. I do agree that CC waited far to long to stand up to Entercom and WPAW. CC felt they could never be hurt since they were the kings of Country Radio in the Triad. They were cocky and way to big for their britches and in great need of change. Aunt Eloise with Big Paul was great but that all fell apart when Big Paul died. Eloise tried to be the "star" but crashed and burned with an over self evaluation of his/her talents. Eloise is not the star and needs a strong leader to guide the show. She/He is now working at WBRF in Galax and it's the same old story all over again lots of talk and much of it is political and opinionated. Nuffsaid!
