Brother Stair Missing From WWZN

I don't get WWZN-AM very well after sunset, but late last night/early this morning (Friday, 09/01) I happened to notice that WWZN-AM 1510 was running Sporting News Radio instead of Brother Stair. Was it a satellite glitch, or has the "good reverend" finally run out of money? And if AM 1510 no longer has something to fill the overnight hours, will WBZ-FM let tham run SNR shows?

if you tune slightly to the right you may hear him via 1530 in Cincinnatti

He is also on WBNW 1120 locally--I think from 10:00PM to midnight. His program started running there about a month ago. Maybe he found WBNW after Blackstrap notified him that they wouldn't renew his time buys (Progressive talk about to expand into the overnights on WWZN??? Santos keeps promising...) or because WWZN was charging him more than he could afford. One thing is certain, WBNW is not going to get him the best signal in Finland of any US AM, which is WWZN's claim to fame in northern Europe; on many nights, WBNW's signal doesn't make it from E Acton to Lexington;>(

WWZN sounds an awful lot like Providence RI's AM 990, which used to be able to boast......(before the ground system, transmitter, and towers went to the dogs)......to be the best heard US radio station on the island of Bermuda.

I guess every market has one of these....LOL.

Ooops...at midnight Tuesday, September 8th, Sporting News Radio was heard on WWZN again instead of Brother Stair (I don't want to say he's mentally impaired, but no he wasn't stuck on the elevator; he was stuck on the ESCALATOR.) Try the veal.

WBNW at night does fill a (very) small portion of WWZN's nighttime directional null to the west, though. Maybe he was originally hoping to get on both to cover more of the market.

Brother Stair is also on Blackstrap Broadcasting's NYC market station WSNR-AM 62. I wonder if Stair pays Blackstrap separate rent for each signal or is it a group buy?

I checked 1510 for a moment on my way home from work at 5:00 AM, and Stair was back on.

He has been off WWZN before and returned. I think the last time he was off for a longer period than this time. From what I've heard, Blackstrap/Davidson doesn't mess around. If your check is late, they cut you off at the ankles until your payment is safely on deposit in their bank. No points given for big buys or on-time payments in the past. Every day is a brand new day. Long-term relationships may be nice, but they are no substitute for timely payments. In God we trust; everybody else pays cash.

I've heard from a reliable source that the Pastor leasing 990 in Hartford from DMG is notoriously late with his checks and they're looking to off him from the station, but they're not having any luck finding anyone else to take over the station, nor is anyone willing to pay $700K to buy the station from DMG, so they're still taking the checks from the Pastor as long as they clear. (And why would anyone pay $700K for a station that's more or less a daytimer? Sure the 2500 watt daytime signal has a far reach, but their 80 watt nite signal only goes 5 miles).
