Bruce Charles

I worked with Bruce Charles at WNEW for 10-years and I have to say he was a tremendous influence on me in the news business. He always took the time to give advise as what to and not what to say on the air. In fact everyone in the WNEW Radio news room was like that. Professional and warm at the same time. It's a time in radio we don't see anymore and that's a shame

I go back to the early 70s hearing Bruce Charles on WNEW. Bruce did the news at the top of the hour and Ray Rice was on the half hour.

It was some time in the mid-late 70s (around 1976) that Charles moved to Afternoon Drive and Frank Seppatani (spelling) moved to AM Drive.

May Bruce rest in peace.

Thanks,
Kevin L. Sealy

Kevin, in the afternoon it was Bruce and Dave Burkett and then Charles Scott King and that duo really clicked.Settipani and Bob Hagen manned the mornings with John Kennelly doing sports. We had Chip Cipolla in the afternoon and Andy Fisher doing late nite and overnite when I started.
