Bruce Cooper's Son Lost At Sea

I heard the story early this morning on CNN, but didn't realize that Marquis Cooper was Bruce's son. 12 News announced it at 5:30pm this evening as their top story. Needless to say, Kim, Brahm, Caribe, and Kevin were almost in tears at times during the newscast.

The one positive note was that the Coast Guard says that this particular boat is virtually unsinkable. However, they've been searching all day and haven't yet seen any signs of the boat, nor have any distress calls been received.

Unfortunately, it just doesn't sound good right now. :'(

My thoughts and prayers are with the Cooper family.

I'd lost track of him since he's been on a few teams since he was drafted a few years ago.

We're all thinking good thoughts for you, Coop.

According to the AP as of 12:30PM MST Monday Nick Schuyler has been rescued. The other three have not been found yet.

According to statements made by Nick the boat overturned during the night in rough seas and the others got separated. Nick stayed with the boat.

Still hoping for the best.

Positive news is that all four had on life vests and there are 3 ships and an airplane searching with night vision goggles.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all family members.

10pm update was sad. Mark Curtis was in Tampa. Brahm and Lin Sue had a really hard time keeping it together here in Phoenix. Wow, what a tough story!

My thoughts and prayers are, of course, with the men and the families. Coop, our hearts go out to you during this tough time Also, special thoughts and kudos to the men and women of the US Coast Guard who are out there searching.

Bruce,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family for Marquis' safe return. God bless.

Sadly, the search for Marquis and the other 2 men will be ending shortly. :'(

My thoughts and prayers will be with Coop, Rebekah, and the families during this very difficult time.

Really Really Really sad news

When the news first broke, the other Big 5 English stations mentioned Marquis as a Valley native but didn't say that Bruce Cooper worked at KPNX or another TV outlet. I watched each channel on Tuesday 3 March and all said how Bruce worked for Channel 12. Very classy.
