Bruce Jacobs is Back!

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but Bruce Jacobs is returning to Valley air waves today with his new show, "Jacobs on Sports", which will air from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on local sports talk station KDUS, 1060 AM.

You can see more about this story here: http://www.azcentral.com/members/Blog/PaolaBoivin/130129

Sad to see Kevin McCabe go, but this sounds like a great addition to the KDUS afternoon lineup. I'll have to give it a listen!

Good move for The Duece...The Fan. He may be obnoxious, but his passion is 100% there. We've got a pool going at the Buckeye Media Hut on when the Valley will get an FM Sports Parkinglot. Might make sense for one of those rims shots.

It appears Jacobs' show is being produced by Roc & Manuch's On-Air Sports Marketing, so i guess he'll be doing those mandatory Right Toyota remotes.

As for sports talk on FM, 103.9's new owners could create a format custom-tailored for Lakers basketball and Penguins hockey fans and take the title away from XTRA as "The No-Homer Station!"

I always thought Jacobs should have stuck with sports all along. As opposed to his politics, which are to the right of Attila the Hun, he actually knows a few things about sports and has a good sense of humor. I caught him a bout a year ago on one of the sports networks (late night weekend, can't remember which network) and he hadn't lost a step since the old Mike Golic days on KGME. I'll tune in to the new local show; we need more entertaining local guys in sports radio.

Gone already?
Looks that way. Shorter than his recent SnR Stint.

That appears to be the case. Looks like Bruce didn't even last two months over at KDUS.

Looking at their current programming schedule, http://www.kdus.com/programming.asp, weekdays between 1:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M., it says, "Sporting News Radio Network", which is what I heard today when I scanned the dial.

Wonder when former FOX 10 alum Kevin McCabe will return to the lineup? ???

Bruce Jacobs on KDUS: 06/06/11 - 07/29/11

I thought this would be a perfect fit for Jacobs and KDUS. Sorry to see him go. What's the deal with Valley sports talk?

It would be nice if Mark Asher would pop up somewhere. I think he's still under contract with KTAR, but he's all-but-disappeared.

This is odd: I just heard a Bruce Jacobs promo on KDUS with Bob Kemp saying "Listen to Bruce Jacobs weekdays from 1 to 3."

Sounds like someone over at the Guadalupe Lumberyard needs to clean out the old promos for Bruce!

And yesterday on KOOL-FM I heard a spot touting the client's Independence Day weekend sale!

And a couple of days ago I heard someone (female) on Ch 5 wishing all a nice Memorial Day weekend......or something.

More like the Guadalupe Hemp Field ;) Maybe Bruce can scrape a couple hundred bucks together and take over AMD at Lumberyard 14~Forty. With him in mornings, Kim'nDon mid-days, and hitbound hindi music in PMD, KAZG should pull at least a 0.2 in the next ratings!
