Bruce Kelly Winter ARB

Yesterday in Herald :

http://www.miamiherald.com/tropical_life/story/516961.html

"WMXJ's general manager, Bob Hamilton, wasn't available the day Kelly was axed, but he didn't shed much light on the subject this week, either. "The rationale behind it, I can't go into, but it just didn't work out," Hamilton said -- though he did confirm that Kelly's ratings were flat and the station wasn't happy about that.

35-64 Winter Book - 10th to 5th !!

Oops.

Nobody targets 35-64 as the 55-64 is unsalable.

That said, the morning show went 1.9 to 2.8 in 25-54 from fall to winter.

Actually, in "senior citizen Mecca" South Florida 55-64 is quite "salable" (just ask the deep pocketed casino advertisers). WMXJ proudly touts 35-64 as their target demographic; leaving the more traditional 25-54 sale to its sister WLYF.

That being said, I think it's obvious the Bruce Kelly booting was not just about ratings... otherwise, why not wait a week until the actual book came out???

The question remains, if he wasn't booted because of ratings... why was he let go?
