Bruce Palmer going to The Pike

According to the Providence Board and the Bruce Palmer website (http://www.cruisinbruce.com/), he will be starting at The Pike in Worcester (100.1) in February. Since they began they have been running jockless. Are they adding an airstaff finally or just adding a morning shift?

In the latest ratings, The Pike took a pretty significant drop in the 12+ ratings and of course, Program Director JayBeau Jones just recently left the station for Boston. Can either of these developments (or both) have something to do with this? Does anyone know who has replaced Jones at WXLO, WORC-FM, & The Pike?

With The Pike positioned as a Classic Hits station and WORC-FM an oldies station with a spotty signal in Worcester proper, could Citadel be thinking of something different for ORC?

Re: Bruce Palmer is now on The Pike

Cruisin' Bruce Palmer started this morning on Worcester's Pike just before 6 a.m. and Chris Engel has taken on more of a presence in the morning. In addition to the news updates, an entertainment report ("The Engel-tainment Update" at 40 after every hour) has been added. Also, Chris Engel is no longer listed on the WXLO website where he had previously been doing the morning news.

As Chris states in his bio on their web site (http://www.worcesterpike.com/showdj.asp?DJID=43349);

“After 3 plus years of working behind the scenes at a jockless radio station, I’m truly excited about the next phase of The New 100 FM the Pike,” says Engel."

IMHO, with all of the jockless radio stations, it's nice to see at least one station going in the other direction, even if it's only a.m. drive.
