Bruce Ryan-Former Wgar 1220 AM; WLTF 106.5 FM broadcaster and long time friend to many who have passed thru the doors of The Ohio Center for Broadcasting passed away this afternoon at 4 PM at his home.

Bruce hosted a Sunday night show over WGAR 1220 AM called Sunday Music Magazine and was the voice for the Ohio Center of Broadcasting TV spots. He has helped so many get their start in television and radio over the years as he headed the operations at the OCB in Independence, Ohio. He will be greatly missed-R.I.P. my radio friend.

This is sad news. :(

Bruce was a class act. R.I.P., friend!

OCB was very good to me while I was there I will always be grateful to Bruce. He always took time to find out what was going on with me and where I was at in my life. He was always there to listen and give advice. His words to me at graduation and the times we talked right before I moved away for my first gig...I always held them close to my heart and I will carry them with me always. His passion for this business was contagious. I appreciate all he did for me and will miss him deeply.

Bruce was a consummate professional and one of the finest people I ever worked with. Condolences to Tracey and the kids. The last time we spoke we shared old memories and lots of laughs. I take some solace in the fact that he and Don Coulter are catching up on those old times now. Rest in Peace old friend.

nice guy, horrible "school"

I wondered when someone would be negative toward him..That wasnt necessary..

I wasn't being negative about him, I really liked him. Very nice and aways took time out of is day to tak to me if I had a question, I just found the school to be, well, a joke, which is why I made a bee-like for a 4 year university ASAP

That's all fine and good..but the guy just died..Wasnt necessary right now to bring up how 'horrible' his school is/was...

Bruce was a great guy - he did mornings when I was doing all nights at Q102 in the mid 70's. We parted ways in a not good way later on, and I regret that it happened that way. He had a good heart and I'm sure he was a great mentor to students at the Ohio Center. Condolences to the family..

Bruce’s memorial services will be Saturday, September 3rd at 10 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 8235 Memphis Ave. in the Cleveland suburb of Brooklyn.
