Bruce Stephens - WBZ Weekend Overnight - Review

Bruce Stephens seems like a nice guy but is certainly no Jordan Rich.
Jordan had a guest filled Friday and Saturday show but Stephens just ran a traditional if not boring talk show that doesn't work when listeners are perhaps looking from some relief from the heavy issues with nonetheless interesting guests and topics which Jordan Rich always delivered.
Again, Jordan is hard to replace.
 
Yes, Rich will be hard to replace. He was workman-like competent across a wide range of interests, a skill set that served him well by keeping him in gigs for decades.

That being said, it is surprising you seem to be campaigning for Morgan White, Jr, a nice guy but who is the dictionary definition of one-trick-pony.

I agree with you regarding Morgan White, Jr. BZ has a rather shallow bench on its farm team at the moment. Part timer, Dean Johnson, is not much an improvement over Bruce Stephens. With the exception of Chris Citorek, who is Dan Rea's Executive Producer and has his own Sunday night talk show there are no new and up and coming on-air talent that I hear on BZ. With that said, I think that there is one established newsman at BZ who could do the overnight and still keep the listeners awake which is more than can be said about Stephens and Johnson and which Jordan Rich could do with ease and that would be Rod Fritz. Rod is very talented and funny and can create an overnight program that would be both fun and worth staying awake to listen to. Right now on the weekends all BZ has is white noise.
