BRW: WTKK airs David Gregory, Radio Chick MSNBC tryout

http://www.bostonradiowatch.com

"Today and tomorrow morning, Greater Media's FM talker WTKK 96.9FM is simulcasting NBC's Chief White House Correspondent morning show try-out on cable news channel MSNBC and NYC's WFAN AM 660. Gregory is also being joined by former WRKO personality Leslie "The Radio Chick" Gold as he auditions for the new morning program with trade industry reports of him being seriously considered by NBC and CBS Radio as a permanent replacement for Don Imus"

Could it be back to one hour for Barnicle? BRW says if Gregory is hired the show would be produced by
MSNBC and CBS radio would carry the radio simulcast...

David was good. But does he really want this gig? He mentioned he got up at 4:45am. Too Jewish isn't a nice expression, but I think it applied to Ms.Gold. Maybe that works in NYC.

Think David Gregory works as the butt of Imus' jokes and as a reporter but not as a radio host. He doesn't have the necessary natural timing. As to Leslie Gold - she is and always has been too tabloid and on the trash side of the news. Wouldn't turn on 96.9 in the early morning to catch either Gregory or Gold.

Just bring Imus back already.

Gregory trying way too hard to be "funny" and a wise guy which is not his strong suit. HIs strength is as a credible reporter unfortunately the suits think anyone with any news chops can somehow transform into a talk host overnight.
