Bryan Allen is out at Mix 96.9

After more than 15 years with Mix 96.9 and before that KZZP and KVRY, he is out at Mix 96.9. Bryan stated on his facebook page that he was told that his position was being eliminated from the station.

I hope there's a special place in hell for folks who fire talented folks like Bryan. People who built large companies with unsustainable economics, then when things get tight, dispose of their best assets.
More inhumanity from a business that sells warm communication but is oh so cold to its loyal people.
"Hey, somebody wanna crank up that heat a little higher? They're not suffering enough!"
Best wishes to you, Bryan!

No doubt! Good luck Bryan!

Bryan is among the best in the business and a genuinely nice person. But let's face the facts about Bryan. As much as we like the guy, he didn't change with the times. He didn't build and expand his skill set. Quite frankly, Bryan only wanted to be a jock. He didn't want to be a MD, APD, etc.

Look, I am as sad as the next guy that I won't be hearing Bryan on the air at Mix, but those folks who are still employed by Clearchannel were willing to learn additional skills to add value to their organization. Something that's required in all industries.

That's terrible, he's a great guy and good on air as well. He always had top #'s. The post above does have a point though regarding taking on additional duties, voicetracking and anything extra that will make you efficient to keep. I'm surprised they've still got anyone other than the pd (and part-timers) over there doing live shifts? The station is clearly about the music, I'm not sure that much of a local presence is all that necessary?

If you ask me, doing a Premium Choice show (with its own prep and content) plus a local show qualifies as stepping up and doing more. It's not like he was just doing 4 and hitting the door.

Bingo. Bryan was doing A LOT for CC, so this is not at all for his lack of taking On additional work. He had been there for a long time and was making decent money, so that made him a target. It's all about the money. If someone is smart *cough* The Peak *cough* they will snag him in a nanosecond. You could do a lot worse than a solid jock who connects with his listeners expertly AND is great in the halls.

Do you think Bryan would do better than Steve Douglas ratings-wise for the Peak? I could hear Bryan pairing really well with Monica in the morning. Too bad they just hired Mark.
