Bryan Simmons picked up by The WAVE

According to Don Barrett Jhani Kaye has hired Bryan Simmons. Look's like he'll be doing fill-in, for now at least. Guess those who posted that he would end up at KTWV were right.

One more reason to listen to the WAVE ... it's my regular station to listen to ... and its my Christmas music station. Sorry KOST ... but I listened for over 20 years and how the whole Mark and Kym thing went down ... I know it's not your fault ... but the station just isn't what it used to be ... and Clear Channel seems intent on destroying it...

Hopefully Mark Wallengren can come over ...

I guess I might be one of the few left that listens to the radio still ... but also listens for the DJ's ... must be a throw back to 93 KHJ in the old days growing up .... ;)

My only concern is that The Wave already has a full staff. Five weekday DJs and a full complement of weekenders/fill ins. Unlike many stations these days, they even have several parttimers voice track the overnights. Hope this doesn't mean someone is out.

Does the average music station listener care if so and so went over to another station? maybe a few, I'm not sure that that many people will change their listing habits?

I think for me since I grew up with KOST and the DJ's basically stayed the same throughout the years I am probably considered a loyal fan. Even when my daughter went away to college she would ask if they had started to play Christmas music yet ... Possibly it just reminds me back in the day when you felt you really knew the DJ ... I know its a time of old ... but its still nostolgic ... I wish all of them the best of luck and wonder how KOSt is going to end up ultimately ...

According to Don Barrett he's only a fill-in. Over qualified for the job, but that's the way radio is right now. Not a lot of jobs, so I think you'll see more over qualified part timers in every market. I'll bet he's happy to be there no matter what the job is.

Your right I was searching on KRTH webpage this morning. I had no idea CBS updated their websites. I didnt know Charlie Tuna and Christan Wheel from KBIG were doing weekends on KRTH. I really had no idea Jhani did overnights there too. I assume its VT?

Both KRTH and the WAVE are voicetracked overnights, only KRTH is "live" on the weekends. At least they sound live, KOST doesn't even bother...

You mean to say that Jhani Kaye doesn't work 8 to 12 hour days as PD of 2 stations, plus stay up all night doing a live radio show? I'm truly disillusioned!

I heard rumblings that you were joining us. Welcome aboard, Bryan! Nice to see you in the hallways.
