BSMW via Vahey: WEEI, Globe tear down the wall!

A nod of thanks to Kevin Vahey on my facebook who linked to Boston Sports Media Watch: It's true! Hell
hath frozen over, as WEEI and the Globe kiss and make up.

http://www.bostonsportsmedia.com/2009/08/weei-and-globe-tear-down-the-wall

After all, WBZ-FM is mere days away

>>WEEI announced today that the station and The Boston Globe have agreed that Globe sports writers will appear as guests on all WEEI talk shows, effective immediately.

Also quoted Wolfe as saying how great it is.

sounds like a pre-emptive strike to get the Globe writers to be on WEEI instead of the Hub. Hearing Bob Ryan this afternoon (I caught part of it) was cool. Get him in studio more, if he's available, and ditch Larry Johnson!

If I were a Globie who just lost my precious lifetime work guarantee, I'd also try scratching for some extra money from Entercom if I knew I couldn't get it from the NYT. Let's hope that when this little game of sports media hack 'musical chairs' ends, Shaughnessy is without a seat.

The Globe has mega-problems (and a rate increase) EEI has FM competition. What fortuitous timing.

I had thought several writers would have --gladly--jumped if given the opportunity. Maz got lucky. I wonder if McAdam was offered? The BZ-FM lineup isn't particularly impressive with broadcasters.

T&R need real strong Bb and Fb call-in guests.
