Neil Rogers reported on air today that Bubba the Love Sponge will be leaving Sirius at the end of the year, and will be syndciating his morning show with Cox Broadcasting on 96.5 WHTQ in Orlando and 93 Rock in Miami. Neil and Phil Hendrie are said to be possible replacements of Bubba on Howard 101. Neil denies being in talks with Sirius-XM.

The Neil of 15 years ago would have been great for satellite. Last time I read anything about him (which was years ago) he wanted to do shows from Amsterdam and Toronto.

How old is he now?

Neil on Howard 101? Hendrie?

Was David Lee Roth passed over this time?

Neil is in his 60's. The only time I got to hear him on a regular basis was when Cox had him on WSUN back in the '90's (?). That was when they should have syndicated him but for whatever reason never did. I try to listen now when I'm in South Florida and it seems like some of the fire is gone. Of course, the current Howard Stern is unlike the one of old so guess everyone evolves.

I have said this before, and if I am wrong, then I will admit that I am wrong...

Bubba is not coming to WHTQ...

WHTQ wants all local shows all of the time. That is why Jon Boy and Billy disappeared and why the Sunday night Little Steven show vanished..

Why all of the speculation?????? WHTQ is not even a Bubba-style station. Also, Bubba has NEVER done well in the Orlando market.

The longest that he ever lasted was back in 90-91 when he was on XL at nights...I mean, wasn't he on WJRR for about ten minutes???????....

We will all know in January...

Sorry DIZ guy... you're wrong on this one. The economics of the biz will bring Bubba to 96.5 and 93 Rock. All the traditional "rules" and historical data have been scrapped.

bubba is pulling huge ratings on a cox-owned, classic rock station in tampa. DIZ guy, you should be happy, he will put a big dent into the monsters......you current favorite....tee hee....

it's gonna happened, bubba has even referenced orlando on the air.....

Has anyone seen the WHTQ bilboards that were put up last month that showed a glass of beer, a picture of some stripper with fake you know whats, the name of a well tested rock group that they play all the time and the saying, we know what you want? If that isn't a hint of of Bubba returning to Orlando.

Bubba will have the Florida rock radio market blanketed. Miami, Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville. All Cox rockers, all Bubba.

Too bad Cox isn't in the panhandle....

Bubba is a FL guy, he'll do well in Gods Waiting Room...

Hendrie going to Sat is a more interesting prospect, I think he can expand his humor and would be an interesting niche fit for sat radio..

If I was the Monsters, I would be worried....

The last time that Bubba was on in Orlando, Howard Stern was on WTKS in the mornings, not Drunky the Bear and Dirty "I got my job in radio because I was Russ Rollins Brother - In - Law " Jim...

Hell, BRING BUBBA ON!!!!!!!!

This should be interesting to see what happens...

Hell, if Bubba kills the Monsters (Which I so hope that he destroys the WORST SHOW EVER IN THE HISTORY OF RADIO), maybe WTKS can put Buckethead on in the mornings. I recently caught his show one evening and it is pretty good...

i'm willing to bet we will hear btls on 96.5. it would help that station a lot. while there at it, add more music for christ sakes. how many times can we hear the same 300 songs over and over? it's time to get with the program. quit playing the safe game. why not be like the bone in tampa or rock 105 in jax? anything. just give us some variety. wow... amazing. well my rant is done. come on btls. get rid of the monsters. they flat out suck. they were good like 10 years ago...

well said Austin, the same 300 songs drove me away from listening to 90K watts of repeats. If Bubba comes to WHTQ, it will really set the Orlando Market on end. I havent heard anything about his move other than whats mentioned here.

Yes Florida, There Is A Bubba Claus

ALL ACCESS' rumor of the BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE RADIO NETWORK (NET NEWS 11/19) touched off 16-tons o' talk, and we're hearing that on MONDAY (11/24) there will be some official news about four new stations carrying BUBBA.

We can tell you that speculation about COX WHTQ/ORLANDO and Rocker WHDR (93 ROCK)/MIAMI being two of his new affiliates is dead on ... and that you can look for one more FLORIDA affiliate -- that's not a COX property -- and one more out-of-state COX station to become new BUBBA RADIO NETWORK affliates.

WHAT is the attraction to this dude from all these stations?

I don't hear anything particularly entertaining. Just redneck blabber.

Bubba was the night jock on XL circa 90-91...

He used to always play "Big Balls" from AC/DC.....no matter what....at about 9pm every night..

It was quite funny hearing something like "Gonna Make You Sweat" from C&C Music Factory, going into AC/DC....

I recall that he did a remote at one time from Winter park High School. I remember that people were afraid to talk to him...

in 1990, when the encyphilitis scare forced orange county to play high school football games during the day, i ran into bubba at the Evans-Edgewater game. He was hosting a dance after the game at evans high. Talked to him for about half an hour towards the end of the football game. Seemed like a very smart guy, driven to be successful at his chosen profession. Looks like it worked.

i found this article the Orlando Sentinel did on Bubba in May, 1991, written by David Smith.

BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE THERE'S MORE TO THIS DISC JOCKEY THAN HIS FOUL MOUTH
