New morning show to be heard on Rock 105 (WFYV 104.5)
Jacksonville, FL – January 7, 2008 - Bubba the Love Sponge® will return to the Jacksonville airwaves on ROCK 105 (WFYV-FM 104.5) at 6:00 am, Tuesday January 8th, 2008.
With this landmark move, Bubba the Love Sponge returns to morning radio in Jacksonville after a nearly 4 year absence. Prior to his departure, Bubba had been a prominent radio personality in Tampa for 12 years, and for nearly four years in Jacksonville. He had become the highest rated radio show in Tampa Bay and was closing in on that prestigious spot in Jacksonville.
The new morning show will be produced and broadcast live Monday through Friday from Bubba’s custom radio studio located in Tampa, Florida. Bubba commented, “I want to thank Cox Radio for giving me the chance to bring a morning show back to Tampa and Jacksonville. And yes, we already know the big question…we’re going to do a ‘clean’ show during weekday mornings on Cox Radio.”
Cox Radio Jacksonville Vice President & Market Manager Bill Hendrich commented, “Radio listeners in Jacksonville love Bubba and they still ask about him all of the time. In the past four years Bubba and his team have become one of the most entertaining shows in our business. Bubba knows the rules of terrestrial radio and we are sure that he will stay within those rules while giving Jacksonville a great new morning radio show.”
