Bubba returns to Tampa...and Jacksonville

Whoa...did anyone see this coming.....i think Rock 105 is headed to be non-classic rock now....i bet Eagle because more Classic Rock in the next few months....but anyways now there is only two live local morning shows left that have a three member team....both on the country stations...at WQIK and WGNE.....oh isnt radio about to get intresting here in Jax.

Hey, don't forget Arthur, Valerie and Jim at WEJZ - they are a very successful 3 member team here in Jax. In terms of longevity, Arthur and crew are my odds on favorites to last longer than Bubba.

Remember, this is Cox Radio - talent on high profile music stations doesn't stick around for years and years. Bubba attracts an audience that is certainly a demo I'm not in - and that audience is fragmented into so many pieces that I don't think this will be a big deal in the long haul. YAWN.

No wonder there was no rock 105 morning team this morning.

Just Curious...Why couldn't (wouldn't) Cox Radio wait until after Christmas to fire the Rock 105 Morning Team and PM Driver Patti Haze. Reminiscent of the KOOL / EAGLE 96.9 bloodletting on Christmas Day a couple of years ago. Happy Holidays From Cox and by the way YOU'RE FIRED.

So, now add Rock to the growing list of the Cox stations Voice Tracking in the mid days. PD Don Davis takes over the VT while Greg Stepp goes to PM Drive.

I just wonder if Bob Schuman is any safer over WOKV as both stations had recent “Insider Surveys” with what you thought of their morning talent?

And from personal experience no month is a good month to get sack unfortunately at year’s end is when it makes good business sense, get them off the books.

Sadly, it's Cox's 'modus operandi' to drop people that have been around a while no matter what time of year it is. They are no better than any other corporation that makes personnel cuts at the end of the year ... it's just that this one feeds their lemmings the line about "people being our most important asset", and expects them to believe it.
The same company that wont let their "most important asset" see Miller-Kaplan's monthly chronology of their financial implosion!
For shame ...

hey you guys.
take a look at rock 5's last played. I see some fairly modern rock tracks on there. so, why would they do that? rock 105 has been in that area for almost 30 years. and if plannet sticks around i guess you guys would have 2 modern rock stations. and the classic rock people are not at much of a los because of the eagle. but i think rock 105 should stay with classic rock. just my thoughts.
and btw, i used to go to the florida school for the def and blind but now live in orlando so i do know a little bit about jax radio. I live in orlando now but keep up on things via the internet and i couldn't help but looking at rock's last played when i read this thread and people speculating rock's move to modern rock witch would be a big bad on cox but it wouldn't be there first time either. what's up with cox in jax anyway? they have been doing a lot of bad moves lately.

ROCK 105 is still rooted in Classic Rock but added some early 90's bands to 'freshen' up the mix...Stone Temple, Nirvana, Bush, etc....all of it at least 15 years old which in this day and age is Classic....What surprises me is Planet when more Classic when Lex & Terry moved there....

ah ok. I understand that. Now, that makes it quite interesting. I hope rock 105 sticks with that. I somehow don't think they would go all modern rock. and yes, I've been noticing ozzy and ratt on plannet as well. planet is kinda like "real rock" here in orlando.
but back to the topic, you guys are going to have an interesting 08 over there in jax.
