Neil Rogers reported today on WQAM that Bubba the Love Sponge will be leaving Sirius at the end of the year, and will be syndicating his morning show with Cox Broadcasting on 93 Rock in Miami. Neil and Phil Hendrie are said to be possible replacements for BTLS on Howard 101. Neil denies reports his agent, Norm Kent, has been in talks with Sirius-XM.

I could've sworn we had a discussion about Neil Rogers on satellite before and how it wouldn't be feasible.

And last I checked Phil Hendrie is still signed with TRN.

Rumor has it that Bubba The Love Sponge is leaving Sirius XM Radio Inc. in January, and that an announcement of his status at the company could be coming as early as Monday morning.

Orbitcast has learned that Bubba will be departing the world of Satellite Radio for a terrestrial syndication deal with Cox Broadcasting, according to people familiar with the matter. Bubba The Love Sponge is said to be adding 96.5 WHTQ in Orlando and 93 Rock in Miami to his roster of syndicated stations, these people said.

As to who will be replacing Bubba? Sources told Orbitcast that Neil Rogers and Phil Hendrie have been named as possible replacements on the Howard 101 channel.

Additionally, FMQB is reporting that an announcement about Bubba's status at Sirius XM could be coming as early as Monday morning.

Upon further inquiry, Orbitcast has confirmed with Bubba's representatives that a Monday announcement is indeed true, though details of the exact nature of the announcement remain unknown. "We are not responding to rumors about its subject," a representative for Bubba said.

Stay tuned...

If BTLS comes It will be the best thing to hit Miami radio since Cox (on the radio) barricaded himself in the control room on the old I-95 and played Smuggler's Blues repeatedly until the "feds" came in

Anybody else missing Jay in the morning? BTLS may be a big deal in Tampa, but all he talks about is wrestling, Lex & Terry and himself. I mean really I bought into him coming to South Fla., but this is horrible!!!!!

never really heard his show, but respect his success in the business. And God knows this station needs something, everytime I tune in it sounds like a college station, low quality personality free jocks, unimaginative presentation and a bad music flow...sounds like its being programmed by bean counter who doesn't live the lifestyle

I would actually disagree about 93 Rock's music. Over the past year, it has improved greatly. The station went from Active Rock to AOR. No longer do we hear song after song of garbage we have never heard of; now we hear a solid mix of Classic Rock and Alternative from the 1990s, as well as currents. If anything, musically, 93 Rock sounds a lot like Zeta did in its heyday (without the good jocks).

Recently my Monster ipod malfunctioned so i had to listen the radio for my hour drives at night. And I sometimes wondered why did i buy this for my car & after listening to the music on 93 rock i get it. no new music. if you ask for a Radiohead song you only get creep. just awful plain awful.

The last couple of times I tuned in he was interviewing wrestlers. And both times I switched back to Paul and Ron.
